Review of SuperNova MG Nataku

Hi, This is a new plastic kit manufacturer which has some interesting original designs (as far as I know). When I looked them up online, I found it interesting so decided to give it a shot. So without much further ado..presenting the SuperNova MG Nataku. This is based on the Altron which was an extension of Shenlong of the popular Gundam Wing series.

The box comes with pretty minimalistic design but great graphics anyway. The Nataku standing tall is very eye catching nonetheless.

The manual is of good quality and comes with nice decals, both reflective and water based. The packing is very good and surprising from a Chinese manufacturer. Usually the packaging is very very basic but the plastic used for the packing is very good and lots of space without crushing the runners.

The chest piece with the head on. The plastic has some issues. It looks thin and weak (I said look). And some of the snap fit is not very good, shows off a little more gap between the parts than expected. The manual is good but at places, you are left to figure out how a part slides in. Some of the connections seem a little flimsy at best.

However most of the parts are under gated so that's always good. And even when they are not, there is enough space to cut the parts off the runner easily without stressing the plastic needlessly.

The arms..again, similar complaints. The connections dont seem to be as sturdy as you would expect.

Nice feet.

The legs

I have to say that it looks very impressive. I did not expect that but it can stand on its own and looks sturdy enough but there are some pieces especially on the waist that will pop out at the slightest pressure. That is a little downer for me.

The weapons and the back pack. Comes with two lances, once with cold weapon and the other with the laser lance. A shield and two dragon heads fixed to the backpack complete the SuperNova MG Nataku.

The dragon heads fixed to the backpack. I loved the mechanism used to fix the heads but the plastic is very weak. I ended up breaking a hinge on one of the dragon's jaws so it is missing one side.

Now that looks very impressive. One of the dragon heads fixed to the right arm while the left dragon head is propped up just by the connection. Really good job. But the killer was the effort that took to get it all together with the loose armour pieces flying off at the slightest pressure.

Thats the completed kit. Now would I recommend it? I am very conflicted actually.

I love the design and the construction. The balance of the SuperNova MG Nataku is great since it can stand on its own with all equipment loaded.

However the plastic is on the weaker side so can snap off. The connections are very weak especially on the waist armour. Blu tack could solve it but it still is a problem.

You decide for yourself there. Sorry I couldn't help more.
